I also find this not very user friendly. I know there are customizations
that can be performed with Publican but I am not that far into it yet.
Once I get the all the docs straightened out )converted) I will look

What is the state of the conversion and going live with the new format?
I'm thinking I'm ready to take a break from the xml stuff I've been working

Just adding a few thoughts. I think, as long as we keep the old
format tree, David could move the books he has converted to live.

I can do the ooDialog conversion myself, if David wants me to. I have
plenty to do, so I was going to let him do it, but there is no reason
why I can't take care of it myself.

The 4.1.2 bug fix release already has the docs branched, so I think we
should just keep that the way it is.

Oh, also, if David wants the new format tree to be 'docs' to indicate
it is the main tree, we could just rename the old format tree and make
the publican format tree 'docs.'

2012-08-20 Thread David Ashley
I do not have strong feelings one way or the other about a rename. But
let me propose this: add a publican directory to the trunk directory and
store the finished (converted) docs there. That way a single checkout
can get both versions from the trunk. And it will make it easier to keep
both versions in sync until we are ready to go live with the publican
version.

Yeah that's okay with me. I was mostly thinking of a way to let Rick
work with the converted doc now, and not have to wait until ooDialog
was converted.

For ooDialog, the index thing is kind of a show stopper for me. I'll
probably continue to use the old build system for the ooDialog doc
until that is resolved.

David - if you finish converting ooDialog to the publican format with
the code base you have, I'll take care of merging any changes I make
into the converted code base.

[Oorexx-devel] Oorexx Reference - the new format

2012-08-18 Thread Oliver Sims
I've been using the ooRexx reference quite a bit today, and have been doing
so with the new format. It's great - except that I'm finding it quite
annoying looking things up in the index. As usual I have the side-panel of
Adobe Reader open (can't remember what it's called - it's the panel that
lists all the chapter and section headings). In the main window, if I want
to look up the index, I hit ctl-end (or click on the 'Index' link in the

entry I'm looking for. That's a pain. And then it's another pain (using alt
--) to have to go through all the pages I looked at searching for the right
index page before I get back to the text I was reading in the first place.
Is it possible to have the letters expanded below the Index heading, each

format had?

Many thanks,
