As far as I know, the folks that set up the documentation server also created
some templates that at some point in the conversion process get called when the
HTML and PDF

able to start using FOP, and found the XSLT sheet that makes
everything stylish! For future reference, it's this one:

Additionally, the complete process behinds the scenes is to take the
AsciiDoc and convert it to Do
Have you tried the --fop parameter?
warning: I am not terribly familiar a2x but use it for basic documents and
use that to generate the PDF
