The document Cynthia attached contained a universal truth in the very
first bullet point. Staff may intend to test the system, but they will
not get around to it. In spite of ample time to test, our staff has
been terrible about getting on there and learning how to use it. Most
seem to think

I apologize if this came through twice. I sent it yesterday, but do not
see that it made it to the list.
I am able to do search queries with both the yaz and evergreen client
without any errors. However, I am not able to import MARC records
directly from the z39.50 screen, or via uploading
Thank you so much Cynthia, I will use this and take all the information to
those who have the authority to make the decisions. I am the fact gatherer.

Couldn't agree more re staff testing - our one do-over would be changes to
the way we did staff testing/training. In a past migration project at
another library, when our vendor did the training months before we went live
(we had no choice about timing), I knew staff wouldn't retain what they'd

Hi,
Regarding the discussion about training, there are companies, in
addition to my employer, Equinox, that provide training on the Evergreen
ILS. Lyrasis and Alpha-G come to mind, as well as Dan Scott of
Laurentian University, although I’m sure there are others that also
offer training.
I dropped the database and ran through the database and schema setup again.
That fixed the problem.
Hi Georgette,
You may also find valuable information on getting started with Evergreen
in the presentations that were offered at the 2010 Evergreen

Hi all,
we've recently migrated to Evergreen, and now that we have things pretty
much working the way we want them to, we need to do an inventory,
because our legacy system was losing it's marbles, and about 1900 items
didn't make the migration. Does anyone know an easy way to go about
this?
Hello Evergreen Community.
The EG 2012 Conference Site Selection Committee is now accepting proposals
to host the EG 2012 Conference.
Do you want to:
- Show off your city?
- Showcase your library?
- Demonstrate your Evergreen love, knowledge and committment and help
spread that
Thank you very much!

If any of you all wanted to 'open source' your training curriculums, I
bet that would be incredibly valuable. (It's not code, so it wouldnt'
be 'open source', it would be more like creative commons, but you
know what i mean).

One of the things we've been discussing is the need for a training

the students must accomplish something rather than just play
