1. Permission for register and edit patron is resolved by adding those
permissions from the user Permission Editor located on the Admin Tab on the
top right portion of the Staff Client.

Why not have the confirmation appear inline, next to the link? (It could
fade away after several seconds.) This is a fairly common pattern in web
apps, though less common in desktop applications. The advantage is that it
would provide confirmation without requiring an additional mouseclick.

I recently found that our system was giving a 1 day grace period on fines. I
checked through the Library Settings editor and the recurring fine rules and
found that the company that (partially) set up our system did have a one day
grace period built in to all our recurring fine rules.
