Hi All,
Some people have been asking where we are with EDI and Evergreen and I know
that ESI and KCLS has been actively working on it. There may be other folks
also working on this so please chime in if I'm missing anything.
Here's what Bradley Bonner of KCLS told me is the current status:

Hi All,
Does anyone know if there's an official hashtag for Evergreen? It sure would
make it easier to use social media if we did!
If one doesn't exist yet, I'd like to establish one. Koha is using kohails.
Maybe evergreenils? Or eg-ils or egils or... any thoughts?

If you are running 2.x it may be different; we're running 1.6.0.8, so YMMV...
Those colored boxes indicate the current status of the patron account:
Green = OK (no bills, fines, overdues)
Purple = has overdues
Orange = has bills
Grey = expired
Yellow = has an alert message
Red = barred

Hi Lori,
I have been using #evgils, and I know a couple of other people have as well.
I don't think anyone has made it official. It's fewer characters than
#evergreenils.

Right, unofficially between Kate Sheehan, Kathy Lussier, and myself, we
started using #evgils as the hashtag for Evergreen-related
activities/events. It was never officially decided on a public forum.
Plain #Evergreen leads to too many odd things.

Thanks Lindsay. That helps a lot. It doesn't seem like the mileage varies.
Thanks again,

I haven't seen a hashtag with ! before.
My 'druthers would be to have evergreen be part of the hashtag but it is
pretty long.
So, people have used:
!evergreen
!openils
#evgils
Any others that have been used?

When I mentioned #evgils, that's the hashtag that I employ on Twitter.

Hi all,
I'm still poking around in the Acquisitions module. The recent documentation
has been a big help, but I still have large gaps in my knowledge. The one
I'm focused on today has to do with the Provider Attribute Definitions tab

Thanks for bringing this to the list, Lori!
On twitter, I've found that #evergreen by itself isn't distinct enough, and
#evgils has worked well (and is patterned off of #kohails).
I'd be open to #evergreenoss or #evergreenils, but they are very long in the
140 character world. #openils
Hi all,
Another acq question. When you fill out the fields in a brief record before
adding it to a PO, is the price field supposed to carry over to the PO line
item? Ours isn't doing that. Is there a setting that controls this?
Thanks,

We've just come up in Evergreen 1.6.0.8. Surprise! The only
instructions I can find for printing spine labels depends on your having
a dotmatrix printer which runs them 1 up. We need them to print on a
full sheet of labels. Before we start kludging something to send output

Unless there are changes in 1.6, as far as I know, there is no way to
change the print template for spine and pocket labels in Evergreen. You
can use other programs to convert the print files in batch printing to a
format to use label sheets. Many PINES libraries use MSWord label
functionality but
Hi Vicki,
I know the Branch District Library has posted source code for an Evergreen
Sheet Spine Label Converter -
http://www.branchdistrictlibrary.org/professional/labels/.
Also, we have recently issued an RFP for developemnt that includes an
enhancement to support sheet printing in Evergreen.
I don't use it much, but I wanted mention that I support #egils too.
Whenever I write notes about Evergreen on my calendar or email I always use
eg, and to me personally evg looks a little odd in addition to being longer
than necessary.

I'm afraid I'm reading #egils as e-gills. eeevil or not ;-), I vote for
#evgils, because it reads EVerGreen ILS to me.
Just my two cents!

Hi all-
It was pointed out to me that even though the Evergreen 2011 Conference
twitter account is egconf11, that doesn't mean that we have to have
#egconf11 as the hashtag.
So #evg11 is still a possibility if people like that better.
And since everyone's weighing in on this..

However, I should mention that I do not feel strongly about my opinion and
will celebrate the use of whatever one wins out.
I'm in that boat, and as it is, have been subscribing to twitter
search feeds for every hashtag mentioned thus far. :-)
