Sharon,
Getting that data from the Evergreen reporter is problematic because the
reporter only allows you to join to a source once. If you try to join it (that
is, select the same field from the same source) again, you'll end up with a an
error in the report creator and/or a query that errors
I spoke to soon,
I'm able to "sort of" get statistical category count data, but not circ data.
So I'm still struggling with this and would greatly appreciate ideas from
others.

I want to say that the last time I spoke with a library about this they had
concerns that allowing an "unvalidated" patron access to their digital
content might violate their agreement with the database provider in some
way...
As I have no personal contracts with any database/digital services
KCLS is interested in this as well. I haven't given it much thought yet

I'm glad you brought that up Grace. One of our libraries would has
also requested this functionality, but got hung up on that same issue.
We would be grateful to hear from others who have already explored
this topic.

I know access can be a big issue with academic institutions also.

Hi all,
I know of some libraries (not Evergreen libraries) that do this. In one
case, although the online card can be used to access electronic
resources, it has a short expiration date. If the user doesn't visit a
library within a certain time period (2 weeks? 1 month?), it expires. My
To go off on a bit of a tangent (it's related, I promise) there is also the
issue of Evergreen offering a way to validate users without them being
physically present at the library.
As more and more of our resources are electronic, it makes sense to have a
form of electronic patron validation as

Eventually libraries will embrace these ideas but I think in some areas it
will be a hard fight. Between traditionalistic views and not wanting to
change policies a lot won't. Personally, I think it would be great to be
able to get a valid card for remote services without having to come into a
