We just upgraded to 2.5.2 yesterday, from 2.3.4.
In 2.3.4, the Create Units for Received Items checkbox in the serials module
was sticky. Meaning, if I left it checked, it stayed checked even after exiting
the tab And if I unchecked it, it would stay unchecked. This was lovely,

I believe the behavior you're seeing is a variant of this bug (thanks
to Mike for pointing me to it):

This is fixed in what will be EG 2.5.3, but there's no reason not to
patch it on your system. :)
