There is no way through the client to do this. You would have to have a db
admin do some work behind the scenes. Are you using EDI? If you are you
would not want to update, add things because the order would have been sent.

patrons can get very frustrated if they find a lot of items are not in
the system. The libraries we are bringing on board generally do a patron
registration drive also to get them into the system.
