I have a simple question: What user name does open-iscsi use if I only
uncomment
(and set) the password, but not the user (That seems to be allowed)? Is it the
initiator name then?
(Microsoft iSCSI Software does it that way)

Hi,
I haven't investigated, but I see similar short "offline periods" for iSCSI
here.
For your situation I'd recommend to move to Fibre Channel technology for Oracle
databases. Just MHO...
