The Technical Data Analyst is responsible for understanding business
requirements from internal and external and external stakeholders and
providing technical requirements to the development teams in order to
generate data needed for business outcomes.



*Duties & Responsibilities:*

Assess, and process change requests to understand the impacts to data and
supporting systems, ensuring adherence to system architecture design
standards, appropriate change control and regulatory requirements.

Thorough understanding of data structures and ability to learn new systems
and design technical requirements.

 Ability to display data in a digestible manner to technical and business
owners.

Work with development teams to gain access to data

Work with Data Stewards and Data Quality Analysts to identify and correct
errors in data

Facilitate meetings and identify data needs from stakeholders



*Required Skills:*

*Experience with clinical data*

Ability to manage *multiple projects* or tasks

Proficient in *SQL* and relational database technology (*Oracle, Seibel)*

Most important – understanding of *data integration and data modeling*

Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks

Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills

Extensive knowledge of commercial business strategy and operations,

Advanced knowledge of reporting and predictive analytics concepts, and a
comprehensive understanding of evolving industry trends, practices and

*This role encompasses three different areas:*

*Job Summary:*

The Data Analyst works with Business analysts and SME’s to understand all
aspects of the business data. The Data Analyst is responsible to query and
profile the business data to understand how the business data is used; Data
Analyst is also responsible for understanding and supporting the definition
of the enterprise definitions and values for that are incorporated into the
integrated data warehouse. This includes validating the definitions across
the organization to make sure we have a common definitions and calculations.



*Essential Functions:*

• Identify data sources and data capture path; profile data; map data from
source to core DW; validate data

• Works with Business SME to identify available data sources for the
business unit

• Identifies existing source extracts or defines new extracts to be
captured for the DW

• Query and profile data

• Understand and translate source code values

• Document data quality issues

• Define data quality checks (existence, consistency, defaults, cross
field) and cleansing rules

• Works with the Modeling team to map data into the BDM

• Prepare Source to Target data mapping documentation for developers

• Test data in all phases (Integration, UAT, Perf)

• Support the Data Steward in understanding potential enterprise key data
elements

• Gathering source data definitions

• Identifying enterprise level data elements

• Support definition of common data definitions

• Validating definitions across the organization

• Communicating and documenting standard data definitions



*Experience:*

Banking product knowledge on capital markets products (derivatives, options
 futures, fixed income, etc.)  or  Core Banking products (loans, deposits,
treasury – FX  Money Market,  Trade Finance)

Data Warehousing  Data Integration

Leadership qualities  Experience of 12 years of which last 4-5 years in
Banking DW projects.



*Technology:*

Oracle, SQL Server, Mainframe, SQL, Data Profiling, Informaticas profiling
tool. Good to have experience with Wherescape, Greenplum etc



*Qualifications:*

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience in conducting requirement
analysis, functional  detail design documents along with technical specs
for business rules.

• Knowledge of data warehousing and data integration is a must.

• Banking/Financial Services experience is a must. Advance SQL knowledge,
database knowledge and data modeling knowledge are a must.
