Patreon is really for anything.

I've never heard of OpenCollective or Librepay and I believe I'm not alone,
pretty much everyone knows Patreon thought.

I believe people are more likely to donate if the platform is already
familiar to them or they have heard of it.

I don't really care if Patreon is not open source.

[openlp-dev] Gratipay is shutting down

Sad news, Gratipay is shutting down[0].

I'm busy investigating alternatives. So far Liberapay[1] seems good. 
Other options are OpenCollective[2] and Patreon[3].


Liberapay and OpenCollective are both open source. Patreon is not, and 
is geared toward content creators, so I'm not inclined to use it unless 
it's the best option.


What do you guys think?
