S10 (05/08) was installed on the same box with the same IDE 80 GB Seagate drive
with no problems.
I can also dual boot it with F8,openSUSE 1,Ubuntu HH 8.04.1 (all linuxes will
load ata_piix driver).

1.Windows XP should be installed in (hd0,0) first parttiton of first disk.
2. Run Solaris Install.
During install it will show you first parttiton of first disk as unknown,
but size of partition will be exactly as you allocated for Windows.

Through my recent exprience choosing option :

When system got installed usbkey automount was not working.

I believe it's BIOS issue. I've just installed Fedora Core 6 on IDE HDD attached
to Jmicron's PATA Port on the same box. FC 6 identified drive as /dev/hdf
and generated a proper grub.conf. From the begining I set IDE HDD as
primary disk in BIOS setup and specified proper boot sequencing
Jmicron JMB 363 and South Bridge Intel ICH8R turned into AHCI mode
in BIOS Setup due to CentOS 4.4 already running on the box.
Solaris Express installer doesn't detect SATA HDD Seagate 160 GB attached to
(SATA,RAID) port of Intel ICH8R Chipset.
Note, that CentOS 4.4, Fedora Core 6,SUSE 10.2 does

Belenix 0.5.1 as well as Solaris Express (build 52) cannot detect
SATA HDD Seagate Barracuda 160 GB attached to Intel's ICH8R (SATA,RAID)
port.
Chipsets ICH8 and ICH8R are different . This first one doesn't support AHCI
(only IDE emulation), second one supports AHCI. View for details

If I will purchase Solaris Express (community edition) build 59 would I be
