Three inventions from me and coworkers, though I know the names are taken.
- MooNix - What comes after the Sun? The Moon!
- SuperNova - What happens when Sun explodes.
- Neutron - A Sun collapses upon itself, becoming very dense.
Various variations can be added, with OS or whatever on the end.

Indeed, I had to (google) search to find out what ON is - to understand
better what Illumos project is all about.

not quite .. illumos actually sounds a bit more like the latin masculine
singular accusative case (direct object of a transitive verb) for that or those
.. ie: we developed THAT, or Oracle abandoned THAT
