one bug related to sizeof(int) not being 4, but that was
a long time ago.

? Back when I actually had an Alpha, I
had make test running cleanly all the way through. It would be a
shame if another bug crept back in and stayed because nobody reported
it.

on an Alpha running RedHat 6.2 with gcc=egcs-2.91.66:
./config
make
make test
All of the tests succeeded. Are there bugs in the bignum code that
don't get caught by the test suite
