Re: [openstack-dev] People of OpenStack (and their IRC nicks)
So, are we agreed that http://www.openstack.org/community/members/ is the authoritative place for IRC lookups? In which case, I'll take the old content out of https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/People and leave a message directing people where to look. I don't have the imagination to use anything other than my real name on IRC but for people who do, should we try to encourage putting the IRC nick in the gerrit name? I don't think there's a lookup for that (might be worth logging a feature request) but generally I rely on using the /whois command to ask the IRC network for details on a particular nick and look at the realname returned with it. I suppose a Javascript overlay to place REST query calls to the member system might be an option down the road, but there will be opposition to that as long as that system is not maintained by the Infra team. Also, keep in mind that it's possible to have a Gerrit account without having a Foundation account (though once Gerrit's authenticating via openstackid.org that should also be tractable). -- Jeremy Stanley ___ OpenStack-dev mailing list OpenStack-dev@lists.openstack.org http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-dev

I re-noticed that the free form projects involved field in doesn't show up on the personal wiki page. Some weird people like me do more other than normal stuff. It would be nice to add that free form field, so others know what us unusuals do too for elections and such. ~sean On Dec 10, 2014, at 1:01 PM, Matthew Gilliard matthew.gilli...@gmail.com wrote: I'll take the old content out of https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/People and leave a message directing people where to look.
