we are using Shark (prod) as well as Hitachi (development). Yes, Shark is Raid 5, and so was our Hitachi. Shark is better. We haven't seen bad performance hits, but we are not transactional, we are read only there. SQL-Loader loads run the same regardless of shark or ssa though. April Wells
