Hi Ethan, I have not heard that Oracle will include a lock out or the listener but I did hear that they will change the listener to allow the text strings to be changed dynamically so that listeners can be made silent in terms of the banner info they give out. It would be nice if Oracle did put

Listener password failures do not lock the password, unfortunately; but it is possible to identify the failed logins. The listener log shows entries similar to the lines below 05-JUL-2003 21:14:39 * services * 1169 TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password Note the lines TNS-01169:
