I believe you have just described Oracle Software Configuration Manager (SCM) for
the Oracle Repository. It allows comparison of two forms or reports, also modules,
tables, entities etc. It's versioning is at the object level and it's rigorous.

(Oracle Corp. Technical Consultant).

I have installed Personal Oracle 8i for Windows 98, on Windows Me, and it runs.
There was a change required in win.ini to get the installer to work properly but
other than that everything was OK.

That is most likely so. ME was created for the home user and 98 for the pro. I'd bet
that it would work with a little configuration work. Compare what is needed with 98
and what is available with ME and adjust accordingly. OR load Oracle PE on 98 and
upgrade to ME and see if it works.

Easy. Log in to sqlplus or svrmgrl and run the following query:
select *
from v$version;
The first line will tell you what version of Oracle you are running.
