I got the answer from an Unix Admin...
There are three ways:
1) If you can reboot the machine you can see it on startup.
2) If not, use SAM (type sam at # prompt) and go to performance monitors,
system properties.
3) echo 'itick_per_usec/D' | adb /stand/vmunix /dev/mem

Here is a very complex program that will do the same thing:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use strict;
open SYSLOG,/var/log/syslog ||
die Cannot open syslog:$!;
while (SYSLOG) {
if (/HZ/i) {
print ;
exit;
}
}
And here is the result:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tmp]# ./clock.pl
Oct 9 01:27:18
