Hi Gilles, I tried what you told me to do. Things went well until I tried to check the word 'english'. It beeped but said nothing. The message buffer had this: buffer Loading ispell...done Starting new Ispell process... Checking spelling of ENGLISH... ispell-command-loop: Text is read-only

Hi Jim, Loading ispell...done The first message shows that ispell is correctly loaded, so this is rather a good news. ispell-command-loop: Text is read-only Yes, you met the same issue which was described in my last mail. At the moment, I do not know the cause of this error message.
