It would be safe in case of unexpected issue to have a second
partition to experiment such installation.
Otherwise you may want to save the current emacspeak files:
cp /etc/emacspeak.conf /etc/emacspeak.conf.sav
cp /usr/bin/emacspeak /usr/bin/emacspeak.sav
cd
