I second that, but I'd like to add that I'm quite impressed by the diversity
of Orchidaceous topics posted on this list.

Hi Prem,
thanks for this post, the species was unknown to me. The first thing
that struck me was the labelum in the photo in the bottom centre
(extreme flower closeup) ... striking resemblance to our Serapias here
in Europe. Is it known what insect pollinates this species ?

Hi all,
I'd like to know whether there's a checklist for orchids of this
location. The site
is now being developed to house a road, hotel, restaurant, shops and ... a golf
course. The location has been on the route of trekkers for a while and is rather
well-known for a few species of Nepenthes

sometimes difficult to track down. As Paul states, more nurseries have them

Hi Iris,
we're currently compiling a list of genera in Orchidaceae for the culturesheet

Hi all,
In the family of Orchidaceae it's often generalised that the seeds don't have an
endosperm. As always in biology there are exceptions. There are 2 species of
which I'm sure they have endosperm cells:
Bletilla striata and Disa uniflora
The former even has rudimentary, vascularized
