This bill would allocate $10,0o0,000 to fund conservation of flagship
species of fish and wildlife listed in either Appendix I or II of CITES. I
suggest that you write either to Wayne Gilchrest (MD-1) who sponsored the
C. pendula in my backyard (coastal southern CA) gets regular watering all
year round and blooms dependably every year. Where I have seen it in
Mexico, there does seem to be a dryer season early in the year, say for 2-3
months before easter, but totally dry is not the case. The wild plants do
outdoors. Its roots
are always cool. My winter temps get to 40F at night and rarely over 85F in
the summer daytime. I grow cernua mounted and somewhat shaded in my
greenhouse. The greenhouse heater comes on at 53F in the winter. In the
summer the greenhouse is simply left open all the time.
