The way I was always treated by other growers in Florida when I
wanted some pollen was, that if seedlings were produced, the pollen
provider would get either a flask or two or a dozen or so seedlings in
say, 3 pots later on.
Basically just like 'pick of the litter' when breeding dogs, etc.

While I agree with your observation, I've always felt it appropriate
to at least offer to purchase anything from someone if the object
obtained by you will enable you to make money. I.E. if you need
pollen to make a new cross that you're going to sell, you recognize
that and offer
