I remember that the
inside packaging of the gelatin, where the powder actually came, was
a type of wax paper that unfolded into a spout to pour out the
gelatin. Once empty, you could unfold this package into a rectangular
piece of paper.

I grew up in Berkeley, California.
Royal brand flavored gelatin was around but Jello brand was more
prevalent. Both companies had similar folded packaging as I recall.
