Re: [osgi-dev] enRoute R7 Development Process (was: enRoute R7)

2018-03-21 Thread David Leangen via osgi-dev

Hi Tim,

Thank you for this information.

That is helpful, yes, but it doesn’t really tell me whom I should ping if my
pull requests or issues are not being addressed.

It’s not really urgent at this time, so I don’t want to make a big deal of it,
but it would be nice to know. Previously Peter was the goto guy for all
questions, issues, and PRs, and he was always very responsive and helpful.

By stepping up to answer my questions here, should I assume that you are now
the goto guy? :-)

Cheers,
=David

 Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delay in responding to this - I’ve been away for the last
 couple of weeks.

Yes - there is an enRoute R7 coming. The official release of enRoute has
to wait for the official release of the OSGi R7 specifications and
Reference Implementations. Currently the R7 specifications are available
as proposed final drafts, but the official release has to wait for the
 member review period to finish.

As for what you can see now - the examples themselves are visible at
 https://github.com/osgi/osgi.enroute/tree/R7
 . The documentation that
will accompany them is still being written/polished but I’m keeping track
 of it at https://github.com/timothyjward/osgi.enroute.site/tree/R7

 I hope this helps,

 Tim

2018-03-20 Thread Tim Ward via osgi-dev
Hi David,

The Contribution process is outlined in the CONTRIBUTING.md in the osgi.enroute
repository.

In summary:

The enRoute project is Open Source
The overall direction and goals of enRoute are determined by the OSGi Alliance
Contributions are permitted from any user that is able to agree to the DCO and
sign off their work.
Contributions use the triangular workflow model
Contributions will be reviewed by the project maintainers before being merged
Large contributions should be raised as issues first so that feedback can be
given before work is started.

Does this answer your question?

Tim

understand that R7 will provide better support of persistence.

Now the question, is there a known anticipated release date for enRoute R7?

 Thank you,

[osgi-dev] enRoute R7 Development Process (was: enRoute R7)

2018-03-11 Thread David Leangen via osgi-dev

Hi,

I am a heavy user of, and minor contributor to enRoute. For that reason, I am
interested in understanding the development process a little better.

Does anybody have any information about whom I can contact for information
about this?

Cheers,
=David
