Same thing happened to me last week! Something “ate” my external micro SD card
and rendered it totally useless on my phone. It's completely inaccessible.
However, when put into a card reader, I can access the contents on my Macbook
without a problem.

Today while traveling I went to use Osmand on my phone and all my maps were
gone! Just a screen about signing up.
What happened?!
We just cycled for 3 months in Europe and had no problem.

embankment=yes is different from man_made=embankment
First one, applied to highways/waterways/etc, implies 2 sided "spikes"
while the second is directional as natural=cliff : top on the left side and
bottom on the right side of the way (closed or not). JOSM rendering is ok.

I did not get better results by modifying battery settings.
I know that 1000m is not high elevation. I was just pointing that my issue
occurs when I am above 1000m. I have screenshots from "GPS Test" app but do not
know how to post them.
