Proposal: when going along a way which has a traffic calming device ahead
as defined https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:traffic_calming, OsmAnd
should warn user, in a similar way as it warns about stop signs. As an
extra feature, please make this warning configurable.
Many thanks!

Another related point: this wiki lists tag "network=lwn" for: "Local
walking network: short walking trails in National/State parks, city parks
or gardens".
This page however does not answer the question how to search for trails...

A fresh thought on the topic... Since no developers responded, this is
only a workaround:
OSM supports tag information=guidepost. OsmAnd allows to save custom
category: guidepost (matching official OSM tag) + name has "trailhead".
Let's start adding "guidepost" to trail heads, plus name
Over time I added or updated a lot of trails (foot / cycle / bridle paths).
waymarkedtrails.org shows no trails in my area on perhaps because they do
not have national trail designation. I am aware of many great hikes in my
area which I have been marking with "trailhead", and I would love to
Fair point, highway/trailhead is not an official tag, which is why I asked
how to configure a custom search.
All in all, there is a disconnect in OSM overall or OsmAnd in particular:
OsmAnd allows to search for cross country skiing tracks, bicycle route
nodes, but not for hiking trails

That worked, thanks!
The only gotcha: you need to check this while online to cache the help file
contents (or at least images).

Using OsmAnd+ 2.3.5
I consider myself a power user with OsmAnd, using it both for hiking
navigation and OSM mapping, I need help with supposedly simple operation:
How do I search for a nearest foot or bike trail? I see a category "Hike
Piste", but it seems to be finding only trails that are
