Yes, this is exactly what I intended!
No need to show up streets, squares and PDI when user is looking for a
city/town.

I agree too.
Actually, the new search would not be that bad... if only it allowed some
kind of sorting of the found matches.
The example I always make is: "In Italy, try displaying Rome city by just
typing "Roma" in the search box."
In that case, "Rome - city" is correctly found... among
So do I.
In some cases the full text search did not even given an address and then
you could only use the classic search.

Yes I know, but I hope for a lot of loud disagreement on every possible forum.
Legacy search was better, there is no need for removing it.
The solution to use with an option in OsmAnd development was quite good.

There is no more item in menu and no more option in OsmAnd development.
Why did you remove it, until now it is much better than "new" search !
