How could I count on Osmand navigation if it could provide such bad
suggestions?
Here is some of the examples.
1. Making left turn from Woodside Road to Alameda de Las Pulgas with Osmand
2.6.3. What kind a routing suggestion is this? (Not to mention, it's
impossible to make)

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I tried what you instructed, but I still got the
same message when I turn OSMand on.
Also the deleted file "regions.ocbf" reappears when I start the app...
Any other suggestion?
Thanks for the help!

Kevin, have you found a working solution?
Today I was riding my bike and saw a lot of similar problems, mostly with
'T' streets with STOP sign, connecting to a main street. At many, many
occasions riding on main street, I heard misleading notifications, like
"STOP sign is coming"...
I could

If the OSMAnd release is relatively fresh, it may not matter much.
But generally, I was multiple times adviced to avoid Github version,
and rather to extract the file from the instalation file of version the
user uses.

Thanks Harry! I don't understand all the code, but line 995 is clear
enough. OsmAnd's routing options look impressive.

Do you really understand my issue? I'm not sure I have one. The existing
system and size of downloads work for me. I have prepared my own maps in
the past, but adding in the height stuff makes this more complex.
I have concerns and a concern is different to an issue.
To me the concerns are
Hi Bart,
Thanks again for this good instructional video.
With regard to the average walking speed: It is in the Routing.xml,
currently at line 995:
https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd-resources/blob/master/routing/routing.xml#L995
It is in km/hr
Simply download that Routing.xml from here:
Make sure OsmAnd is completely closed.
Use a file manager and go to /Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files.
Delete regions.ocbf
Now start OsmAnd again. It will take a little longer this time, but should
give you a working version again.

I do understand your issue, but it is a difficult decision which city to
take and what to include, and why not Montreal in that case?
You can still make your own maps.
A couple of years ago I wrote an article about creating your own maps
especially for these kind of pruposes:
