I do agree with your post,
but it is IMHO not much related to
what I have written.
My complain was not about extra price,
but rather about not being included
in the application.
For a car navigation, it does not make much sense to have it, and other car
navigations do not have it either.
But
For such an extremely useful app you just pay a few euros or dollars, and
that just once! Each month really time consuming calculations have to be
done to transform the OSM maps into a format that can be used by OSMAND.

It depends on where you are and how active the local community is. Locally,
you can usually find new streets and addresses in OSM (and in OsmAnd) first.
