Additional info in the route details
Hello, I create my own maps for overlading and off roading in Quebec, Canada. I do not use openstreetmap data because most of the logging roads are not there (there is almost 400 000 kilometers of such roads in Quebec). Instead I use open data published by the governement. When I calculate a route with OsmAnd using its the provided maps I get all the additional info in the route details but routes calculated using my own maps do not show this info. I only get the step by step section. I compared some relations and ways from openstreetmap with my data and there is nothing special on openstreetmap, the tags are the same (highway, lanes, surface, etc). What do I need to add to my map to get all the additional info in the route detail ? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: showing routes driven on a several day trip
I prefer using the Android app "GPS Logger" which drains less battery. Furthermore you can store waypoints with a meaningful name at any time. You can edit these tracks with the app "GPS Track Editor" and view them with the app "GPX Viewer". You can then copy these GPX files into the OSMAND folder net.osmand.plus/files/tracks using any file manager like FX. Tracks in that folder can be displayed (and followed) in OSMAND. But I wouldn't do it the way you want. You COULD do it in theory, but it isn't a good idea. You would probably need to keep OsmAnd running in the background permanently (can be set in the module settings), the file would be huge and probably slow down OsmAnd. And, the main reason against - if something goes wrong, you could loose the complete recording of the route, not just one day of it. Record every day (or every trip) separately (split the files), and at the end, simply join the individual gpx files together. The module can do it for you - it can split the recording at every pause longer than 2 hours and after a pause on the next day. If you can, backup the gpx files in the meantime - not sure if you will have the possibility to do so. The module offers live tracking as well. Even so, I would every week or so copy the recording at least at a SDcard, just to have some backup. Majka -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
