Yet another reminder to both people who make these posts and those who respond to them that this list is not for diagnostics, discussion, surveys, etc. There is a discussion list for that type of post. > On Mar 17, 2021, at 1:54 PM, Jason via Outages wrote: > > > We are getting alerted that

Google 8.8.8.8 (next hop after 172.253.71.199) dropped out of pings from my AS 16:28:21-16:28:53 17:42:06-17:43:13 which is very unusual. 1.1.1.1 and other internet destinations were fine at the time so sounds like a google problem, we peer directly with AS15169 at telehouse west I believe.

I know Google is having an outage on their cloud networking platform. Looks like it affected lots of other google services. https://status.cloud.google.com/incident/cloud-networking/21006 Haven't heard of others though but I'm sure there might be some relation. On Wed, Mar 17, 2021 at 1:59

We are getting alerted that URLs are not reachable from London, UK. I see in /r/sysadmin a thread re: Google's DNS, but it might be larger than Google to include Cloudflare and others. Any confirmation here? -- #FarmerPower farmobile.com Jason Forst   |

[outages] srsplus.com and it's associated DNS seems down.

2021-03-17 Thread Lyle Giese via Outages
I checked from my home Comcast and from my virtual server at IONOS and could not reach SRSPlus or resolve dns queries associated with domains associated with SRSPlus(dns1.srsplus.com or dns2.srsplus.com) Also checked Down for Everyone or Just me and it reports SRSPlus website is down.

[outages] Reports of Recaptcha failures

2021-03-17 Thread Rich Lafferty via Outages
Lots of noise on Twitter and DownDetector that Google’s captcha-as-a-service, Recaptcha, is failing (and it sounds like it’s failing closed, refusing access to all). If you use it on your signup/signin pages you might want to turn that off until things clear up.

It seems I spoke too soon. Reachability to those IP addresses is now intermittent here as well as from Comcast's NY route server. However, Comcast seems to still be seeing a route to the /24 even when the IPs aren't pingable: RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:route-server.newyork.ny.ibone#show ip bgp 64.69.216.61
