is the response I received from Brian McKenna at Hope Island Insurance.
Brian was the first person to obtain professional indemnity for midwives and he
had to withdraw when Lloyds of London decided not to provide the policy
anymore. He passed us onto Guild Insurance who took over for a

Dear All,
I have forwarded on the reply I recieved from the ALP. The

They do address midwives and the current situation after
discussing the "risky business of birth".
