Exactly 20to 30% of otherwise healthy women will test positive for GBS by either urine culture or lvs at 37/40 wks: we have no way of knowing which GBS positive women will have a GBS septic baby and, in fact most GBS positive women wont!! Somehow some women who are gbs positive transmit immunity
