My sister was on about this stuff a few years ago - she paid something
like $60 for a bottle of capsules, lasting a month. I always knew she was
mad... ;)
H. Mad cow disease?

LOL!! Oops, William gets disracted if I laugh while I'm feeding
Was being told about a similar product from a Neways
person, and had a lovely time feeling her ears with how feeding really works.
Explaining how our milk and no doubt cows, changes constantly to meet the needs
of the infant feeding and so by taking colustrum at one particular time makes me

#4. Is My Baby Getting Enough Milk? Revised
January 2005
Written by Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC. 2005
Breastfeeding mothers frequently ask how to know
their babies are getting enough milk. The breast is not the bottle, and it is
Have just heard from my brother. One of his daughters has just
had her second baby, somewhere Melbourne way. First baby, normal
birth, not small but I don't know the weight. She was told this
one was big, probably over 11 lbs so she was scared and had a

Hi Andrea
Yes it is a huge discrepancy but the law only relates to births attended by registered doctors or midwives. Registered health professionals have an obligation to report the details of each birth they attend whether they occur at home or in a hospital. They have to provide the

Hi,
If the baby is gaining weight well, feeding wel and
is happy and content (to the extent normal for a baby!) does it
matter?
Stay tuned for the Australian Breastfeeding
Association's "poo chart" Baby poo revealed. It is a full colour
sheet with information ic photos of nappies on one

I'd like to announce that I've finished a summary of all of the

Hi Jan and Andrea,
Hate to disagree Jan, but up this way at least it's the registered
midwives who are not putting in their stats. That's about laziness and
an unwillingness to be involved in the 'politics' of birth. Seems to me
it creates the opposite effect - full ability of political
What actually happens when women choose to
birth unattended? Are their stats just lost, or never reported?
Surely a woman could do her own stats and post them in without the fear of
being punished for holding herself out to be a midwife? I have been
wondering about that here in SA, where
There ARE some important things with breech. This is where your anatomy
and physiology of the newborn is very important. Understanding the
circulatory system of the baby, the way the bones in the head fold over
each other and the concept of creating an airway are some important
considerations.
Hi Mary,
Was talking to a friend of mine recently who is a midwife and had twins. Her boys were fully breastfed and absolutely thriving one always had the typical yellow breastfed poos and one always had green poos! So perhaps it has something to do with the baby's own digestion?

Jan has summed it up in a nutshell - both the discrepancies and the
reasons why many home births go unreported.. we did a 'run' with
the national data a couple of months ago - and we were suprised to
find an even geater difference than this one you report Jan. The most

HiFiona,
It is a problem with Bigpond customers. Kim, our website manager, has been
helping a number of listers with similar problems. The list is OK - you
need to take it up with Telstra. You probably won't get this message,
however

I guess I was just asking for an opinion as to who was not sending in the stats. It doesn't really matter who it is the aim needs to be the same. Get the two departments to get together and find out who is not doing it and approach them. Surely the aim needs to be to get the job done so that we
