I have a question that I hope it's related: I'm thinking about getting an
IPhone. However, people say that Samsung TV's are great, but if I got this,
would it be as accessible to use with my IPhone? The thing is, Samsung makes
the Android smart phones, but I don't want to get an AAndroid
Hi all I would like to know if anyone knows of a high quality, accessible, high
end 5.1 stereo amp that can take the output from my sound card and convert it
into 5 stereo channels and one subwoofer output? Cost is not an object.
Thanks
Frank
You've plenty of options here smile.
There's another list member who has a Denon receiver which will do what you
want, he got the high end model at a bargain price, I'm green with envy smile.
I have the Denon AVR2113, I last saw this model for $500 which is a steal if
you can still get the
Hi Dane, do you know what the model number of that other receiver that another
list member got?
Thanks

Okay, this seems to have worked though I'll let you be the ultimate judge.
Here's a sample of what my Polk Audio bookshelf speakers sound like, they're
not the top of the line speakers from Polk but for $400 they're not bad either.
I've provided 2 samples, they're the same but in different

I wonder if anybody on list owns this speaker from Bose. It costs $300.
I saw one briefly last evening at the Verizon store, as I was
purchasing my new iPhone and was pretty impressed with the sound, given
the size of the box. I really haven't looked all that much in to this
sort of speaker. I
I don't own one - not yet - but I do plan on getting one, I'm told by the
people at Bose that the Soundlink III sounds as good as the Soundlink Air? Well
that's probably overstating things a bit given that Bluetooth doesn't have as
good a sound as AirPlay generally but I think I know what Bose
Come on now! these are proper Hi-Fi speakers and not a toy.

A few days ago, a list member posted the link to Burnaware 6 on this

Yep, could do that as well as a brief description I guess, I wrote a review of
this speaker on PC Audio last year I think it was so type something into Google
and you may find it in the PC-Audio list archives.

Ah that's right. Thanks for reminding me of your system Dain. Again, the
geek in me wants anything that will take 4K or UHD as it's also known.

Okay, let's make one point clear.
Its not I who says that AirPlay sounds better than Bluetooth, its a fact
that AirPlay transfers data in a lossless mode whereas Bluetooth - as a
rule - doesn't have the band width available to do so.
Bluetooth 4 o course is the exception here and - as yet -
Logytech makes the Z5500 system that's made specifically for PCs, and it'll
do what you want. Yamaha has systems that have HDMI and all the old
connectors as well. I prefer to do it like Dain. Run an HDMI cable from the
video card. Then you can even get full 192 thousand KHZ 32 Bit with a system
Ah it's able to do lausless audio ha? Now you've got me. Epic man! I prefer
lausless audio. Hell I really prefer good old PCM.

The nice thing abouut the soundlink 3 is that if you have a partner
whose devices are not of the I- variety, he/she too can use it without
the need for an aux connection. I wonder if the SL air costs more or
less than the SL 3. Will have to look at that.
Mary
The Soundlink Air - I think you're referring to - costs about the same or it
least it did when I bought mine 8 months ago.
Regardless of Soundlink Air or Soundlink III, both get very good reviews.
In the case of the Soundlink III, its persistently rated as the best performing
Bluetooth speaker
Well, according to amazon. the sound link Air is $349 and they say
there is a newer model, the Sound Touch, which costs $400 and looks to
be more complicated than the Air. There is also a Sound Link mini,
which gets very nice reviews. Some even prefer it to the Sound Link 3,
although it does not
sounds like I need to check out those bose speakers. chris

Firstly, I think the Sound Touch might be a bad investment.
True! it has Internet Radio and Media player bundled for want of a better
description but the downside of this is that you need to install the Soundtouch
software or App on whatever device you wish to use it with, certainly the App
I don't know about Amazon as they don't sell electronics in Australia to my
knowledge, one person I know says that Amazon isn't the cheapest place for this
sort of gear? Perhaps its time to use your friend Google to do some shopping
for best prices for you if you haven't done so already smile.
i have always heard the phrase, no highs no lows it must be Bose. With
that in mind, given their size the quality is probably fine for most. We
have certainly gotten alot of good use from the old Bose wave radio that Pam
bought years ago.
just my take.

I own 3 Bose products and I can say here that - whilst that little ditti may
have been true in the past - it certainly is true now with the product I own.
Yes, there are better things around for similar or bigger prices but the Bose
of today certainly aren't the worst
Hi!
The following is a review of one of the newer Grundig sets.
It seems - unfortunately - that this set is nothing whatever to get excited
about and that's a real shame.
