Yes colin I figured you did.
It's not easy to describe pitch and music keys. Pitch can be a given
frequency, and you wouldn't say that something was in a higher pitch,
but you might ask a singer if they can pitch a particular note.

One of the easiest software packages to change either pitch, or rate, at
the press of a key, is amazing slowdowner from roni software.
You can do it all, from the number pad on a full size keyboard.
The other beauty about this software, is how clean the result is when
you listen to it, given that

Audacity has this which is easy to use. It tells you what key the song is in
then you can choose what key to move it to. And Audacity is free.
I have seen this in other audio programs but it uses percentage to raise or
lower which didn't make sense to me. I like knowing what key the original

GoldWave also has the ability to move key without changing pitch, move up or
down a tone, or semi-tone, keep tempo the same works fairly well but none of
these algorythms are perfect, there is always a compromise, but GoldWave is
not free once the trial expires.
