hi list, What event in XP uses ding.wav? think this is the event that's not changing when trying to modify it. In addition to my original message, I'm hearing a beep from my laptop, but its not a sound from my available choices when browsing. Best way i can describe it, is that it sounds

When you say list of sounds what list are you refering to? I apologize if you already know this, but you can see the different events you can associate with different sounds in Start Menu - Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices. In the Sounds tab, there's a tree view with all of the
