Peter, If I correctly understand your set-up, I would suggest that you do edit the jfw.ini file, just as you describe, to force JAWS to use your SigmaTel card. As I said before, I don't think the IMic will make itself the default audio output device, thus forcing JAWS to use it. But, in case

Indeed, that's a good enough reason as any. The Sound Blaster Live packed it in on one of my Windows boxes but not to worry, off to buy another Imic so if anything breaks down in the Sound device department ever again, the replacement job will only take 5 seconds instead of ten minutes
