service I'd like to use.
I looked at the readme file for Hope, which looks promising. Then I googled

I am using hope right now, and it works wonderfully with JFW. You can
create your own stations, pause/play, rate songs, skip, etc.
I was shocked that there was no trial period, but the $10 was well worth it.

Apparently the Apple TV is supposed to be able to access music through your

I don't think I asked this question on this list because I'm a pretty

Which operating system are you using? If XP, did you go to sounds and audio

I am using XP and I did go to sounds in control panel and the sounds
are all there and working. That's what's so baffling. I can click on

Hi Christopher,
Yes, all the other sounds are working. I can play music and I still
get the sound when a download has completed. The ones that I know
are missing for sure are the sounds when windows shuts down and when
it comes on. Also the sound when a piece of hardware is accidentally
So when you go into Sounds, you're double checking that you've got
sounds set up for Windows startup and shutdown, right? If you make any
changes, you're saving them and making sure the updated or new sound
scheme is the one that's active, right? I assume so, so this is pretty
strange.
I see Hope has a volume control. Does this alter the volume
independently from the overall system volume control? Can I control the
volume of my station in Hope without changing my JAWS or system volume?
Christopher
yes you can. At least, it worked that way on my system.
