Re: Sony NWA608 MP3 player.

2006-03-20 Thread Jim Noseworthy
Hi Kiran:

You can find information about that unit at:
www.sony.com

The unit itself is very easy to use; however, the transfer of files to the
unit is a nightmare.

Real player is supposed to support that unit now; however, the transferring
files will still be quite arduous.

You should know that the unit does not support WMA DRM.

Hope this helps.

 Jim,

Can you point me to a link where I can read about this player? I am
researching a number of digital mp3 players for a friend.

 Hi Folks:

Anyone had any experience with the Sony NWA608 player? If so, how so.
 From
an operational point of view, it's realy quite friendly. The problem, it
would appear that one has to use their software to transfer music to the
 player, even in MP3 format.

 Looking forward to your response.

 Thanks.

asking again/shows skipping in replay AV

2006-03-20 Thread joanne
Some of my Replay Radio AV shows are skipping quite a bit and I'm wondering
2 things. First, should I not be converting these shows to MP3 and could
this have something to do with the skipping? If anyone's had this trouble
would like to know what you did to solve it.

Second, I do plan on reporting this to tech support but can't find the email
form. I go to the help button and am taken to different searches of the
FAQ, and I did try searching this way but my particular problem isn't
showing. So I was trying to find an email form to report this but cannot.
Hope someone can point me to a link where this can be reported, as I've
heard their tech support is really good about helping out. Thanks.

Hi,

I just got a desktop with the sigmatel audio sound built onboard. It's using
the intel audio studio which is totally inaccessible. As well, I am finding
that the microphone volume is very low no matter what I do with the settings in
recording volume in windows xp. Can anyone recommend a better way of using
this device than the intel audio studio and how to improve the sound. As well,
is it very hard to install a sound card and what would I have to do about the
onboard device? Thanks in advance,

Richard

Re: accessible computer remote programs

2006-03-20 Thread Bob Seed
Is it not possible to put station play list on a lap top with jaws and
access the studio from a remote location? There should be a way to access
the studio play list program from a remote location, and at the same time
have control of the operational functions of that program from yor remote
site. Stations were I live do it all the time
and there is no operator at the studio site. The guy doing the remote has
control of all of the programming. At the end of the remote the show host
simply switches control back to the studio and the automation takes over.
This same technology is used to turn transmitters on and off and even switch
power remotely with speech friendly prompts.

If you don't have JFW Pro, you will have to pay for the upgrade to that
version. In addition, you will have to pay another additional $200 for the
privilege of allowing JFW to give you access to a program that comes with
Windows XP Pro and everyone else can use for free.

If you use WindowEyes, you do not have this restriction, and you can use
Remote Desktop right out of the box.

2006-03-20 Thread Brent Harding
I doubt you could send audio down the remote connection live. The idea
sounds good for shoutcasting when you must use dialup. My idea would be to
send 14.4k voice up the line, having a return of the same speed, but let the
music originate on the end with the broadband.

This same technology is used to turn transmitters on and off and even
 switch
power remotely with speech friendly prompts.

Re: asking again/shows skipping in replay AV

2006-03-20 Thread Jim Fettgather
Joanne, I have found ReplayAv support to be quite responsive, and here is a
link to the support page for ReplayAv.

http://applian.com/replay-av/support/

Once on that page, you need to look for a button labeled:

Create Replay A/V Support Request

After activating that button, you will be able to fill in all of the details
of your support request.

Subject: asking again/shows skipping in replay AV

Some of my Replay Radio AV shows are skipping quite a bit and I'm
wondering
2 things. First, should I not be converting these shows to MP3 and could
this have something to do with the skipping? If anyone's had this trouble
would like to know what you did to solve it.

Second, I do plan on reporting this to tech support but can't find the
email
form. I go to the help button and am taken to different searches of the
FAQ, and I did try searching this way but my particular problem isn't
showing. So I was trying to find an email form to report this but cannot.
Hope someone can point me to a link where this can be reported, as I've
heard their tech support is really good about helping out. Thanks.

RE: accessible computer remote programs

2006-03-20 Thread Rick Alfaro
Reese,

That is correct. Remote Desktop is not supported by JFW standard version.
You have to be running JFW Pro, and you have to purchase the additional
license that will allow you to use terminal services. Don't take my word
for it though. I would call FS and verify that this is the case. I think
part of the cost involved will depend on which version of JFW you are
running currently.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I may not have offered enough information and forgive

The unit will record for a few minutes then click off.

I put new batteries in and am using erased discs.

Now with this new information can any one offer help?

Thanks.

 highly recommend Nero.

Speaker Settings in xp

2006-03-20 Thread Richard Quan
Hi,

I wrote previously about the Intel Audio Studio; guess no one uses it so I
managed to uncheck in startup. My question is now: what is the difference
between the various speaker settings in windows xp; i.e. q5.1 and 7.1
specifically. In any of those, my onboard sound doesn't allow me the chance to
change trebble and bass; what are the corresponding differences in speaker
settings in xp: i.e. chanel 1-4 5-8 etc. Each speaker setting seems to have
different volume configs. Thanks in advance,

Richard
