 Hi Dick.

I'm sure you've gotten a ton of recommendations, but here ya go.

I used to use CDEX, but now find it slow, especially on my new computer.
Now, I use WinAmp Pro...I still have 5.111, though I see some newer versions
are out. It works great, and is fast.

What program can you recommend to convert files to MP3?
Maybe I should ask what program do you use to convert music files to

RE: Converting to MP3?

2006-03-24 Thread Jouie
Ah ok. It is totally free. Why are you questioning me for my opinions here?
Try to have two PC with CDEX installed on the first PC, and that winamp PRO
in the other machine. Try to convert 30 files using both; same time, same
files and try to observe the difference. I'm asking for that because I never
tried that because I have only one PC here. By the way, the specs of the two
computers should be the same in all aspects hundred percent.

 Hello

I use a stario to listen to music, and I have a large music collection.
So, of course, I bought a pack of 100 cds thinking they'd work fine. This
stario was known to have some reading problems--but I could usually
resolve them somehow. I burned the first cd at 8x, like usual. What came
out was horrible--and I even tried playing it on another system. It
 didn't
play it good iether. I hear small crackles in latter tracks and at the
 end
the disk won't play at all. 8x is the lowest speed nero burning rom will
burn at- but I don't think that's the problem. I'm not sure what to do-
 any suggestions?

 thanks,

 Hi Tyler.

I don't burn a lot of CD's these days as I have all of my music on
 external
hard drives. Just looking at version 6.6 that I have here, it appears the
jitter correction option has gone. Looks like it's been replaced with the
cache files on hard drive before burning option in the CDDA tab of the
 burn
 dialogue.

Sounds like you may have a problem with your CD rewriter. You could
  ensure
that jitter correction is checked when burning but that aside, looks
 like
  a
bad match between your CD rewriter and the CD's you've bought.

some dvd's will play epasodes one after the other. others will not. it
depends on the make up of the dvd. in power dvd you have to go to the
 next
epasode and click on it to play it. you might also want to try dvd audio
ripper to play dvd's it works great.

2006-03-24 Thread aad leeflang
hello all,

just in the middle of the scanning process.
befor this message is displayed the programm starts to add files and than that

i have all kinds of audio files on my drive, mp3 flac, shn wav and maybe more.
the help file says that mac supports those file types so that should not be a

help Sony MZB-100

2006-03-24 Thread Kevin Doucet
Hi list,

I am asking again with a slightly altered question.

I have the Sony MZB-100 mini disc recorder / player. recently, while
recording, after a while, the record button pops up. Has any one else had this
problem with any mini disc unit and if so what can I do to fix this?

Thanks.
Thanks.

checking audio files for errors?

2006-03-24 Thread goshawk
hello list,
does anyone know if there are any programs out there that will check audio
files for errors that may prevent them from playing properly after being put on
to cd or when streamed.
would like to check the files before using them for such purposes.

Re: help Sony MZB-100

2006-03-24 Thread Don Ball
try a new battery. if that doesn't help try a new disk. The machine may need
cleaned. You can buy a mini disc cleaner for the drive from mini disco or
etronics. Try to press the reset button to see if that resets the drive. I
feel that you may have a bad disc but I have heard of some machines having
this problem and needing repares.

program

2006-03-24 Thread Michael Babcock
I'm looking for a program to organise my music into folders by the type of
music they are. For example, I have 600 songs in my misc folder or so, is there
a way to organise them? And not by hand?
