Once you gave me the instructions telling me what to look for, I was able to find the boxes and buttons I needed. However, I did have to arrow around a little more than usual, and control tab didn't either speak or work the way it should have, which makes me think I don't have the most up-to-date scripts of jfw. I'm running jfw 7.10 and winamp pro 5. are there more recent scripts other than the one provided in jfw 7.10. or perhaps there are some additional settings I need to do. Also, I noticed that when I started to rip a cd, winamp said playback error, rip music in progress ok. Winamp had already started ripping the cd or at least I heard the disk drive. Once I clicked on ok, it continued ripping and the mp3 files were just fine. But I'm wondering why I got the error message in the first place. Easy CD-DA Extractor
I just installed version 10.0.2. I still can't get JAWS to track the PC cursor when arrowing up and down the list of tracks in the ripper, even when I re-install the ezcddax.JCF that was made available back in August, shortly after the release of Easy CD-DA 10b. Dana, Just by the by, I also have this application, but have never become even as proficient with it as you seem to have. Even the basic stuff about the interface-- excluding the menus, which operate and read fine) have frustrated me beyond my ability to tolerate. I can tab and/or control tab around, arrow up and down, and can never actually discern how to cycle around the several functions and encounter the same options within their tabs, and some things while I'm moving around like this don't speak at all, in certain areas. This is true in the newest version, just as it was before. Something is badly amiss about the coding compared to more screen reader accessible programs. I never heard about this script file, if that's what you're referring to. Even after my inquiries and complaints about some of these issues, Jukka did not tell me about it. Even though I said I was a fan of Esa-Pekka Solonen, music director of the L.A. Philharmonic. No sweet-talking that Jukka, I tell ya. Anyway, please tell me about this script file, where to get it, and how to install it. If it's useful, that is. Also, may I suggest that at least for a few of the program's functions, when you feel blocked from them by tedious problems with navigation and such (not including your rip tracks issue, I'm afraid), do try putting up the context menu, you know, that key to the left of the right control key, and seeing if what you need is one of its options. Re: NFL Field pass
No problems, but a couple of pains. In real player, you cannot control its volume independently. So when you decrease real player's volume, you are also decreasing your screen reader's volume unless you have a second sound card or are using a hardware synthesizer. Also, you cannot close Real Player with alt F4. You have to select the close option from the file menue. Re: Easy CD-DA Extractor
Yardbird, The configuration file I referred to is something an associate of Jukka's (I forget his name) put together shortly after the release of version 10B, specifically to address the problem with tracking the PC cursor in the ripper's track list. It worked fine the first time I used it, and has never worked again, for me. I found it less frustrating simply to revert to version 9.1.3. But, other than this one issue, I have never had any difficulty using the program with JAWS. I find it totally accessible. Perhaps, if you write to me off list, and describe your specific difficulties, I can give you some pointers. Blessed Be, Dana D. S. Leslie, née C. R. AC3 Converter?
Hi all, I've got DVD decrypter up and extracting AC3 Audio from DVD's, but I can't figure out how to convert into OGG or WAV to convert into OGG. Can anyone point me to a program out there that will do this? I tried opening the files in Gold Wave, and Gold Wave recognizes them as Audio but won't play them. Re: AC3 Converter?
Brandon, I ran into this same problem, just last week. I haven't found a program that will convert AC3 files to WAV. But I did find winampac3_1_01a.exe, a plug-in that allows Winamp to play AC3s. One word of warning though: when I first installed the plug-in, I needed sighted assistance to access the plug-in's configuration screen, to adjust the gain levels, so that it played at a normal volume. Other than that, it works fine. If you do come across a converter program, though, please let me know; I'd be interested in trying it, as well. Blessed Be, Dana D. S. Leslie, née C. R. Checking Streaming settings and finding Localhost and Dynamic IP web link
Hello List! I have a shoutcast server on my system and use the shoutcast plug-in with winamp to stream my radio station. I don't know why, but lately, once I chose my plug-in (Shoutcast Plug-in), set winamp to playing, connect to the server by pressing the connect button on the plug-in via the sys tray, and go to my web site to look for the status of my station, strang things happen. I cannot log onto the localhost system to see whether or not the station is public or not. Maybe I am putting the wrong data, but I don't think so. also, when I go to my web site and click on the link with the dynamic ip address, where the station use to play, I cannot find it either. To check the status of my server, I type: http://localhost:8000/index.html. The system says Cannot find Server and the usual junk that it does when a web site cannot be found. Likewise, when I go to the link on my web site that plays the station or type in the url myself, http://jarmusicbox.audio-stream.net:8000/listen.pls, the same cannot find server, message comes up. I check the plug-in and everything is set properly. I have a commercial shoutcast server and the same problem does not come up. When I check internet connections, under the Local Connection (Network (in control panel), I get the message about weak or no connection and Windows asks me if it should try to repair it. the system says No IP address was given to this computer. How could this be? Any help on this issue would be very much appreciated. Has anyone ran into this before?
Hi all, I installed allofmp3 explorer on my husbands computer last night. As I began to download files I realized it seemed to be happenning a bit faster then usual. Now explorer says the files have been downloaded but when I go to play the files I get a system error stating the files cannot be found. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem or who I can contact? I've looked all over the computer and no files. Thanks so much for your help. Re: Question about Bit Rates in Streaming
Yup, the only time I would do 128k stereo is if you know you have a lot of bandwidth to play with. Also, I would make it an mp3 stream, as opposed to a stream that can only be played with realplayer. Winamp and other compadible mp3 players are better able to handle streams when they buffer. You can't get rid of buffering completely, but you can keep it to a minimum. At 02:12 PM 9/24/2006, you wrote: All is correct but try setting it to 96kbps. 128 tends to drop out a lot. - Original Message - From: Jardata Mail Services [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Saturday, September 23, 2006 6:13 PM Subject: Question about Bit Rates in Streaming Hello List! Sounds great, but drops out for a short period of time. When you hear or stream the station through my internet link, the music is played in Real Player. I'm thinking that, maybe, I have Real Player's connection rate too high. I have it set at DSL/Cable 256-750+ (different times). The maximum is set the same. Should I chose 56.6kps, even though I have a DSL connection? I think Real Player's choices go up to T1 or so. Also, what should I have the setting for a 128k stream? I currently have the Encoder set at 128k/44. stereo. Is this correct? If not, what should it be? Re: NFL Field pass
I don't have any problems with it. Of course, when using Field Pass, I'm only interested in the audio, so I don't know how accessible the schedule links and team roster links and all that is, but once you install realplayer, it will automatically come up when you go to the link you're interested in listening to. And I have to give the NFL credit, their audio is excelent! Just a quick point, though. If you try to pull up a link during the game and you don't hear anything, don't automatically assume it's not there. They may be in commercial, and they're not allowed to have the comercials, so they just stream silence. Also watch out for Real Message center. That's not accessible at all and it has a tendancy to pop up at any time. - Original Message - From: Chris Chaffin [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. Ok. Goodluck! But I wish you also appriciate CDX someday. I never used MP in ripping. I am not sure about its ripping speed if it is the same in CDX. Just to give you an idea, CDX usually takes about 5-10-15 Minutes to finish one CD depending on your resources such as your RAM and processor.
