I have a home recording as a single file on my hard drive which is under 80 minutes. I would like to divide this recording it to tracks to burn to CD. Determining Server type?
Yesterday, I asked about why I couldn't get the MP3 stream from Oregon Public Radio to play in winamp, although it does play in WMP, ITunes, and Realplayer. Today, I got a reply from the moderator of the Winamp.com Technical Support forum. Apparently, Oregon Public Radio is using a Quicktime MP3 server, which Winamp does not yet support. So, apparently, in order to determine which player you need to play a particular stream, you need to know more than just the stream's file type; you need to know the server type, as well. How?! When I plug http://streams.wgbh.org/wgbh.asx into either the WMP address bar or the IE address bar, it comes up in mono. Of course, now, until after 8pm Eastern, all their programming will be mono news/talk. But, after 8pm, they go back to stereo music. I don't exactly know what they have done but it does seem they have split there streams. I guess the stream we have now is probably the high def stream. DJC, http://64.71.145.107:8000 is the same 32k, mono stream as http://streams.wgbh.org/wgbh.asx http://streams.wgbh.org/wgbh.m3u and http://streams.wgbh.org/wgbh.pls The latter three are simply metafile containers for the former. I've written to WGBH (who knows if/when I'll get a response) to confirm this. But I now strongly suspect there is no stereo stream for their regular on-air FM broadcast, only these mono streams. It seems rather dumb to have devoted resources to a second channel stereo stream *without* first investing in a 128k stereo stream of the on-air programming. but, so far as I can see, that's what they've done. I think my Turtle Beach does this on the wave/stereo mix too. With mine, there isn't a whole lot of bass either though. Rockbox with i-river h340
Hi all, I have been told that the rockbox works with the i-river h340. however, someone reviewed the installation instructions with me. According to those instructions, it will not work with my firmware which is 1.03 u.s. he said it primarily works with european and asian models of the 340. has anyone from the u.s. loaded rockbox on an i-river h-340? When you are in volume control in the properties menu there is an icon that says 'advance'. this gives you extra controls such as bass and treble or digital.
