I must have been given a dud set of these headphones as there is a notable
humming sound when using is microphone. I've tried plugging my Plantronics
DSP-400 into different computers with the same result. Yes, sound is great
but I can't use the microphone unless I am willing to put up with this

Re: replay 8.03

2007-01-08 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi. Actually, there are a lot of reasons why 8.03 is better than
7.x, my favorite is the fact that the program will wait longer
before trying to give up on recording a stream. If the stream dies,
replay will wait longer before it gives up and says it can't
record. and for some folks with slower connections this can be a
real bother since getting streaming audio over a slower connection is
tougher to do sometimes.

It also seems like it's easier to record different things with 8.03,
but maybe that's just me. Hey if you have 7.x it's only $9 to
upgrade. Not bad.

Hi. I would say that Replay A/V version 8.03 is *much* better than
8.02. You can certainly use 8.02, but it's a little more intensive
on routing cursors, and let's face it, not everybody is good at
that. The folks at Aplian have made a significant jump with version
8.03 of Replay A/V for the following reasons.

*You can press the space bar or enter key on a button and have it
perform that action, as you were able to do in version 7 and it
works just as you might expect. If you did this in version 8.02, you
would get an error message because the button you were on didn't
 gain focus.

*They've introduced a menu bar with version 8 which may make things
easier to find for some people. So if yu're in the program, arrow
through the choices and find out what's there. Don't be scared to
try any of them, they won't hurt your system in any way at all.

*the interface of the program is very similar to that of version 7,
so if you know what you're doing with version 7 you should have no
problems. As far as importing things from version 7, it's imported
all my shows with no problems whatsoever, the transition was smooth
   as you'd like.

I think the reason you got some .cap files was because the stream may
have been dropped or interrupted in some way. Unfortunately with
streaming audio, this is the nature of the beast, and outside of
getting yourself the fastest connection possible, there isn't a
 lot you can do.

At 12:24 AM 1/7/2007, you wrote:
I am still using replay-7 because when 8 first came out I downloaded it
and had previously lost the file with all my programming. (I got that
back because we had to run restore on my computer. Because it was so
different I have stayed with 7 because it works, except for Kap files.
Should I stay with 7 or venture into 8? I am mostly worried about my
program list, since it has 85 entries. Also it seemed much more
difficulto record the programs with it. By the way, has anybody else
noticed that sometimes you get mp3.xxx files? Any suggestions or
   recommendations? Thanks. Kurt

I wonder if it's possible to record a file while an another one is

If it is not possible to do that in GoldWave, pleas could you suggest

You can copy and paste tracks together, but you can't, for example, do true
track layering. This is why I really don't like digital editing. I've seen
programs that can perform this task, but I don't have the money for them
yet, so i will stick with my trusty old clunky tascam.

mp3 tag studio

2007-01-08 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Hello,

Last night I downloaded Mp3TagStudio version 3.05 since I wanted
to use the mp3 tag info to correctly label some of my mp3 files.
Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to use this program
either with Window Eyes 6.0 or with JFW 7.1.

I can select the correct folder containing the files to be
re-labeled, and I can choose the correct operation to be
performed. However, I cannot figure out how to actually select
specific files and to actually commence the re-labeling.

I had a prior version of this program several years ago which was
very accessible. However, I suspect that the prior version would
not run on XP.

I would therefore appreciate any hints and suggestions as to what
to do to get mp3 tag studio 3.05 to work for me. Thanks in
advance for ideas.

Re: Audio grabber

2007-01-08 Thread anthony campbell
hi jed, did you get the track list from the database.

here is what you do.

open audio grabber with your disk in the drive.

fill in the artist and album title.

then hit alt c and then hit f .

this will take you to the database and you should get your track list. you
may have to tab after hitting the alt c and f key because they might be more
than one listing in the database. just pick the first one and press entre
you will now have the track list and just do alt c and g for grab.

Re: Plantronics DSP-400 headset

2007-01-08 Thread Bob Seed
Now it sounds like a defective headset to me. It is usually the standard
tube type monitors that often cause the problem. With the tube type if you
move away from the monitor the hum will dissipate, and the closer you get to
the monitor the hum will increase in volume. You can experiment a little in
order to isolate the problem. You may also want to get in touch with the
company in order to determine what is wrong with your head set. ..

 Subject: Plantronics DSP-400 headset

 I am successfully using a Plantronics DSP-400 USB 2.0
headset/microphone here with JAWS 8, Windows XP Home SP2. No
drivers nor software to install. For me its good for what I need
it for. Skype and listening to audio or jaws. Long cord, the
cord has a up and down volume control, cord also has a box - the
digital signal processor?. All is great with this headset. My
 review only.

Multiple simultaneous Win amp sessions

2007-01-08 Thread Thomas Reid
Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get Win amp to open in multiple
sessions?

I have a mixer that has two USB connections. I wanted to use two sessions
of win amp to simulate two turntables in order to record a mix.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello. hit alt+ctrl+n to open a new winamp. You can change devices and stuff
with both winamps.

Should I stay with 7 or venture into 8? I am mostly worried about my
program list, since it has 85 entries. Also it seemed much more
difficulto record the programs with it. By the way, has anybody else
noticed that sometimes you get mp3.xxx files? Any suggestions or
 recommendations? Thanks. Kurt
