I am asking a question that has probably never been asked before.
I have a new LG VX-8350 cell phone, but I am finding it a pain to use
Windows Media Player and V-Cast Music to load music on to the MP3 player
that's built in to the phone.
I am wondering, could I use Winamp to sink music or any other audio files
 on to this phone?
 Thanks in advance.

Hi,
In the latest Winamp there are plug-ins that allow it to handle
PlaysForSure and ActiveSync. If either of those is how you connect, you
can use the Winamp Library. I've never done it but I know the option is
there. It really depends how your phone connects.

You can get a trial version that gives you 30 burns before it stops from
http://www.readingmadeeasy.com. Unless it has changed recently, the price
is $59 with no charge for any updates. The software includes CD riping,
CD audio burning, data CD burning and data DVD burning. It does a very
nice job and is relatively easy to use. And, of course, the real beauty
is that it was spacifically designed to work well with speech software.

Re: making a podcast

2008-03-22 Thread tickpub
Hi, making the pod cast is simple, depends on your skill and the quality
you want to create. If your on the road, use a digital battery run
recorder, the best I know of is an Olympis 40 or 50. You just press a
button, speak and it is saved as a wma file. You must then download this
to your com, send it out.
But there are others out there that can ttell you of a less expensive way
of doing this, but after all my personal research, I find that the
Olympis 40 does the job for me. I only wished I could have bought the 50
instead.
If you know how to work with sound editors, then you can really have some
fun. But just for simple recording and posting it on your own site, for
your own use, keep it simple.

soundfore beeping during a track

2008-03-22 Thread Dan Thompson
Hi All,
I am using soundforge 8 with winxp pro and window-eyes.
After making the canges to a track and adding affecrts, I hear a beeping
during the playback. I thought it was a way of soundforge keeping track of
where the affects were added when in forge. But I opened he same file in
winamp and still hear the beep. It seems to be every ten or so seconds.
Any idea what might be checked on that is allowing this to carry over into

A good place to get this recorder is startstop.com. I believe it is a
little over $200 for the DS-50 nowadays.

dvd recording as a beginner few more questioons

2008-03-22 Thread Dan Thompson
I wish to say a very big thanks to those who responded to my last message. I
am going to buy the new version of the recording software recommended.

Fore example I do the following with roxio 6.0

1. IIf i was making an data cd, I would go to file and choose new and
then press d for daata cd.

2. I then go to the folder where files are located to burn and select one
or more.
3. I copy these to the clipboard and then go back to the window in roxio
where one can insert files into the layout and paste them in.
4. I I press allt plus f for file followed by r for record.
5. I then tab to okay and press enter. The recording then starts.

So here are some questions I hoped to get answered.
1. how do you add the files to a dvd from your computer.
2. do you have to make chapters etc or just put the files in the layout and
record them..
3. Can this created play in a sstandard dvd player on your tv?
Thanks so much for any help and I genuinely thank you for responding.

 Melony,
It probably is because the recording, stop and pause keys are as follows,
record, ctrl f9, Paus, ctrl f7, and stop, ctrl f8. Hope this works for
 you
Also, you have to go into the device controls usingunder volume and check
the control which will causegoldwave to record from your sound card.
Let me know if that works for you.

Re: making a podcast

2008-03-22 Thread Valiant8086 on laptop
The ds30, 256mb capacity, is about 120 dollars. the ds50, 1gb, just tops
200 dollars. Mine is the ds30. I have filled it up, but all I had to do was
move files from it onto a pc to free up space. You can record for
respectible amount of time with the ds30 on highest quality 192k. The ds
series have speaking menus and are relatively quick and easy to use and
flashy looking and feeling. The ds series have a stereo microphone that
ataches to the top of the recorder. This stereo microphone can be removd and
it will switch to an internal mono microphone that does a better job of
picking up various frequencies but, being mono, doesn't give you stereo
recordings. It has a decently low floor noise. It's not the best recorder
around, one issue I have with mine is when I'm using the stereo microphone
it tends to be a little loose in the jack and rattles and makes lots of
noise in the recording even if i'm being careful to handle the recorder
quietly while recording. A standard microphone can be plugged into it in the
same jack to which the stereo microphone is connected, allowing you to
resort to some other option, be it a clip on microphone for your shirt
collar or be it a headset or be it one of those sets that go on your ears.

Hello Albert,

The Victor Reader Stream is an excellent example of a player that is not
currently able to handle the WMA format. The Book Port is another device in
this category. Both devices are, however, quite capable of playing MP3.

you want to create.

 Gary and Dave,

Converting the file is a very good idea, however, as the standard for
podcasts specifies an MP3 enclosure delivered by way of an RSS feed.

the Olympus DS-50 cost about $249.00. the DS-40 costs $199.00. all you
 need
 do is
to convert the WMA file you record to an MP3 file if you want to. you
 don't
 need
to however since people that will be listening to your podcast might use
 Windows
 Media Player.

Re: NCAA basketball game audio?

2008-03-22 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I'm not positive, but I would think so. You could always try it and see
what happens. It'll either work or it'll ask you to sign up / register.
I can't test it myself, since I am registered. I know it doesn't cost
you anything to register. BTW, they use the same registration as a
handful of other sites, such as CBSSportsLine.com.

John Schwery wrote:

 earlier, Christopher Chaltain, wrote:

 So I'm assuming you're going to http://www.ncaasports.com/mmod/welcome
and you've already registered and signed on. You also need to be running
Internet Explorer. Getting it to work with Firefox is a bit tricky.

On the above URL, you'll see the following:

 March Madness On Demand
to launch the video player and begin watching live games!

You need to click on the link Click here.

On the next page, you'll get a series of tables, one for each game that
day. You need to click on the text graphic Watch Now!. I use a right
mouse click with JFW. You may be able to hit enter on it, but it doesn't
show up as a link or any other kind of object you can click on.

I think this is pulling the video as well as the audio. I don't know if
you can get just the audio stream or not. I haven't spent that much time
messing with it. This thing called work keeps getting in the way! I'm
sure others smarter than me have figured out easier ways to get at this.

Oh yes, the Olympis 40 or 50 are nice, go to BCT, they offer a link to a
sale on the 50 at this time. Yes, they are about 200 to 250, but well
worth it.

Re: Websites for MP3

2008-03-22 Thread Larry N
Hello Samuel. Napsteroffers membership to residents of several countries
outside the U.S. including Britain Japan and Canada. One membership level
lets you download
files that you keep as long as you maintain your paid membership. On
another level you just by tracks and albums as you would at Amazon and the
like with no membership fee.In the States and here in Canada, a free trial
is offered.

I understand your frustration. Here in Canada, Amazon.com, Rapsidy and other
companies based in the states block us from purchasing downloads at their
websites. Those of us who live outside the U.S. are also blocked from
listening to Clear
Channels radio streams. The page that comes up when you attempt to stream a
Clear Channel radio station says that non-U.S. surfers are blocked due to
licensing restrictions. In my experience, I have never found a broadcast
stream for any station owned by a company other than clear channel that
blocks non-U.S. surfers, though others may exist that I have simply not yet
discovered.
