GoldWave v5.57 and Jaws scripts.
Greetings, Does anybody know if the scripts are being amended to take account of the new features in GW V5.57? If so, please can somebody advise where I can obtain them? I tried v5.57 and because things are somewhat different, I unloaded and reinstalled v5.56 but would like to use the new version because of it's added functionality such as in the voice-over feature. Thanks. From Colin Howard, who lives in a small place near Southampton in Southern England and can't decide what else his signature should contain at present to stop it being so boring. Definition please
The event which precipitated this post was the installation of GoldWave, version 5.57. As I hadn't installed the two or three versions just prior to 5.57, this really seems like a radical change, and frankly, I am having difficulty getting acclamated to some of these changes. At any rate, would someone please explain, preferably in English, just what is meant by vertical zoom and horizontal zoom. Although I understand that it has to do with identifying a region of a file on which to perform audio editing, I am having problems grasping just what is meant. Also, if someone would be so kind as to explain the difference in the play functions of f2, f3, and f4, I would be most grateful. Lastly, somehow I can no longer read the V U meters as I could in older versions. What options do I need to modify in order to regain this accessibility? Thanks much. Re: Problem with a particular stream
Hello Dana and list, Wror has changed toa different stream. You can listen at: http://www.vtuner.com/vtunerweb/asp/StatLaunchMP3.asp?id=9122link=1 Be aware that the stream is an .aac stream so won't play in Windows Media player unless you install the proper plug-in. Winamp supports .aac streams. Hth. Frank Brown To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: Definition please
Hi, Don. The functions of the f2, f3, and f4 play buttons are configurable. If you go into the play properties tab with f11, you'll see each of those buttons listed as you tab through the options. Below each button is a list of choices you have in determining how that particular button will function. For example, you can set play button 1 to the play selected option, meaning that every time you use the f2 play button it will play the audio between the start and finish markers. You could set the play button 2, f3, to the play unselected option, meaning that when you press the f3 play button you would play everything outside the start and finish markers. In previous versions of goldwave there were only two of these configurable play buttons. Now there are three. Hope that clarifies it. On another note, I know you're using window-eyes like I am. Since I upgraded to the latest version of Window-eyes after version 7, the goldwave set files for window-eyes created by Richard Turner unfortunately no longer work, although the window-eyes script for goldwave on gw micro's script central site still works. Accessibility seems the same as other recent versions of Easy CD-DA Extractor. Good in some parts of the program but the list of tracks still doesn't read very well using Window-Eyes. Regards Steve. Problems With Switch
Hello list: Hopefully this won't be too long of a post..but I'm confused and frustrated at this point! As you may recall, I downloaded the Switch sound converter to my computer. I haven't used it that much..but I apparently mistakenly have gotten the paid version! This isn't what I wanted; anyhow..the trial time period elapsed! A few minutes ago, I tried to use it and it let me know that I had to register it and pay..which I don't want to do as I had understood it was free! So I figured I'd try to uninstall all the extra stuff..you know..Sound Recorder and something else that I don't remember; that went okay! Aw..but now when I try to uninstall Switch..(was going to uninstall (then go and reinstall switch without the extras..but..oh no! It tells me it cannot be uninstalled because, someone on my computer is using the program NOBODY IS USING THE DAMMED PROGRAM BUT ME! So can somebody please tell me how to get around this? I think I would like to use the program as I have a file I want to change the bit rate on (Total Recorder doesn't seem to be allowing me to set it to a bit rate that will allow it to play where I want it to)..anyhow..this doggone Switch..makes me want to Switch it off! Thanks for reading what has turned out to be a kind of long post; hopefully you won't mind! Tom Kaufman To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
