Re: extractin audio from emails

2007-04-16 Thread Martina Letochová
The music file in an email hides in Temporary Internet Files so you got to
look around and find out if there is some WAV or Midi file in some folder
within that.

Okay, Folks. I've done what several of you instructed: Saved the email
message with a .mim extension, and opened the .mim in WinZip. I find a
couple of .txt files, a couple of files with no extension, but NO .wav or
other audio format files. I've tried playing the no-extension files, just
 to see, but no luck.

Is anyone willing to take a look at this email message for me, and see if
you can figure out where the audio is hiding?

 Thanks.

Re: extractin audio from emails

2007-04-16 Thread Martina Letochová
I see. That's strange. So could you also send the email to me please? I'll
see what I can do about it here. Maybe it works in a different way in XP?
With the Temporary files it always worked in Win98 I had until recently so I
dunno now. I guess if nothing works to extract the file it's always possible
to record the sound in real time with some audio-editing program such as
Goldwave or Soundforge and then save as a new file; but c'mon, there must be
some easier way than this.

I found a SWF file I suspect this is it in a hidden subfolder in Temporary
Internet files but can't play it in any program to confirm if this is really
it; but I haven't had any other Flash files today. Dana, I'll send you
instructions privately along with the file as soon as I record and convert
  it.

   Someone else already did. Thanks.

But, like me, he could not find the audio in the saved email.Where can it
be hiding? I'd like to know, if only for future reference.

Okay, Folks. I've done what several of you instructed: Saved the email
message with a .mim extension, and opened the .mim in WinZip. I find a
couple of .txt files, a couple of files with no extension, but NO .wav
   or
other audio format files. I've tried playing the no-extension files,
   just
 to see, but no luck.

Is anyone willing to take a look at this email message for me, and see
   if
you can figure out where the audio is hiding?

 Thanks.

 Blessed Be,

 Dana

Re: extractin audio from emails

2007-04-16 Thread Dana S. Leslie
No problem, Doc. Issue already resolved. Someone else, from another list,
discovered that adding a .asx extension to the third of the files named Unknown
allowed it to play in WMP. I had tried adding a .wav extension, but a .asx
extension never would have occurred to me to try.

Situation resolved. Thanks, anyhow.
