 Hi all!
I'm trying to record myself singing into my microphone with goldwave, but
when I go to play back the file, I get dead air. I went into the control
panel and tested my hardware, and everything seems to be working fine. I
was wearing headphones at the time, because I had originally intended to
sing with a karaoke file and mix them together. It's a good thing I
decided to do a test recording first. I really don't think the headphones
should make a difference though. I have no idea what could be wrong.
 Thanks!

2005-12-15 Thread Dana S. Leslie
Did you check that goldwave was configured to take its input from the mic,
rather than the line-in or some other source?

In GW, go to Options, control Properties, and the Devices page. The second
of the two drop-downs listing your audio devices is the record device
selector.

Good luck.

the record tab is to decide whether you want the recording voice activated

There is also a choice that will allow you to set a time in the future to

Re: problems recording with goldwave

2005-12-15 Thread Stephen Schmucker
Hi Alison,

If you want to record something with no specific time length you have to set
it to unbounded in the f11 record tab. If it is bounded, Goldwave defaults
to recording 1 second. I had the same problem when I started using the
program.

Good luck.
